Before replacing an oil furnace, check Ontario support

A failing oil furnace creates an immediate equipment decision. Before committing to another oil system or an independently purchased heat pump, an income-qualified household should check the official Ontario affordability route and discuss the urgency with its delivery agent.

A managed installation, not a furnace rebate

NRCan describes Ontario's co-delivery arrangement through IESO. Eligible households can receive a directly installed heat pump system with a published project value up to $25,000. Applicants do not receive that value as cash. This should not be advertised as a $25,000 discount on an oil furnace.

Ask the official delivery program

Save on Energy Energy Affordability checks the household and property and uses its own assessment and installation process. The federal portal deadline is not the correct application route for a new Ontario co-delivery applicant; confirm provincial intake directly.

If a purchase has already been agreed

Tell the delivery agent about the signed contract and any equipment order. Do not assume a direct-install program will reimburse a private purchase after the event.
